This little ore car is on display at the old BA&P roundhouse at Spruce Street & Park Avenue.

The ore car sits in the middle of a large parking lot to the east of the roundhouse. Repainted and looking much nicer than it probably is, this ore car would have been used either at the mines or the smelter of the Anaconda Copper Mining Company, shifting loads of ore. At the mines, it would have hauled ore from the mine to large tipples, or storage bins, to later be loaded onto trains which hauled it to the Anaconda smelter. If used at the smelter, it could have hauled ore from storage areas to the smelter or slag from the smelter to the slag pile. These cars were unloaded by simply tipping the hopper to one side.
