An 8' by 4' bronze relief sculpture by Raymond Averill Porter is in the center of a 16' by 7' by 4' granite exedra. The sculpture depicts Civil War soldiers marching, each with a rifle over their right shoulder. On each side of sculpture are carved eagles perched on globes. Bronze plaques with the emblem of the G.A.R. are on each end of the exedra. The monument was erected in 1920.
