A 32" by 24" by 13.5" plaster cast of a bust of George Washington rests on a 38.5" high by 13" round base. The sculpture was created by Hiram Powers copied after the sculpture by Jean Antoine Houdon. It was modeled in 1838 and cast ca. 1844.

The sculpture is enclosed in a clear case. A plaque on the front records its history. it is inscribed:
