[DE] Das alte Feuerwehrhaus wurde ursprünglich 1929 gebaut. Im Zuge der Neugestaltung des Ortskerns in den 80er Jahren wurde nach einiger Diskussion im Gemeinderat unter Einbeziehung der Haarer Bürger beschlossen, das bestehende Rathaus nordöstlich des Feuerwehrhauses zu erhalten, zu renovieren und um das benachbarte Feuerwehrhaus zu erweitern. Alternativ wäre ein Rathausneubau an der B304 gewesen, was aber verworfen wurde. Die Feuerwehr zog an die Vockestraße weiter östlich um. Seit März 1987 wird der umgebaute Komplex als Rathaus genutzt.
Die ehemaligen Einfahrtstore des Feuerwehrhauses sind heute verglast und schaffen so den lichtdurchfluteten Foyerbereich des Rathauses. Hier finden auch gelegentlich Ausstellungen statt. Im alten Schlauchturm befindet sich ein Aufzug.
[EN] The old firehouse was originally build in 1929. When the town center was to be redesigned in the eighties, there was some discussion about the location of the town hall among the town council and the citizens. It was decided the old town hall to the northeast of the firehouse was to be preserved, renovated and extended to the neighbouring firehouse. Alternatively, a new town hall could have been constructed at the B304, but these plans were discarded. The fire department moved east to the "Vockestraße". Since March 1987, the new complex is used as a town hall.
Today, the former gates are glazed and thus create the light-flooded foyer of the town hall. Sometimes, the foyer also houses art or other exhibitions. The former fire hose tower now contains a lift to the first floor.
