A granite memorial in the form of a Runic cross mounted on a cairn. Placed at the side of the road and surrounded with black railings.
Inscription reads-
"To the Glory of GOD and in MEMORY of the SPORTSMEN of BARNSLEY and DISTRICT who fell in the Great War 1914-1918.
Greater love hath no man than this that he lay down his life for his friends."
Lower down on the base inscription reads-
"Lest we forget."
