Sbor dobrovolných hasicu byl v Lipuvce založen 1.kvetna 1879. Bylo to na prímý popud tehdejšího obecního zastupitelstva za starostování pana Jana Kladivy. V obecní rade sedeli dále Josef Málek, František Micánek, Václav Micánek, Václav Vyskocil a Josef Odehnal. Pan Jan Kladivo se tak stal historicky prvním starostou našeho SDH. Sbor mel 24 clenu.


Vzhledem k tomu, že vetšina domu byla kryta doškovými strechami, ke svícení se užívalo svícek a petrolejových lamp, bylo nebezpecí požáru velmi vysoké. V té dobe mela obec asi 110 domu. K tomu je potreba pripocítat chlévy, stodoly a jiná hospodárská stavení. Vetšina z nich prevážne drevená.


Podle hesla „Každý zacátek je težký“ také hasici v Lipuvce zacínali od nuly. Výcet jejich výzbroje je, ocima dnešního cloveka, až úsmevný.
