Mr. Bronson was the founder of a lumber company, hardware company, and Bronson Implement Company.
Number 33 in the Colville Tour Booklet
Though we don't know of its previous affiliations, The Bronson Implement Company was, from 1950-1976, an International Harvester Dealer.
Formerly in partnership with Warren B. Lane in the Bronson Lane Lumber Mill, Bronson later purchased the R. E. Lee Store, a grocery and hardware store, in July of 1915. The store was bought in partnership with Z. Lane, the son of his former partner, Warren Lane, who owned the building in which the store is located.
All Local Historic Plaque Recipients are entered in the Colville Heritage Register and receive one of these burnished copper plaques bearing the date of construction of the building. If you're wondering why the plaques are copper, and not the traditional bronze, it is because it was primarily copper, along with lesser amounts of associated metals, such as silver and gold, which created the impetus for settlement of this area.
