The station opened in 1887 when the district was known as Cramsville. Rationalisation of smaller stations such as this one means that it is unmanned. Tickets can be purchased at the station via the ticketing machine or you can use the newly rolled out Opal Card. There are two platforms & the station is accessed via flights of steps so is not wheel chair accessible.
If you are intending to travel to Fairy Meadow from the south you need to change at Wollongong, from the north at Thirroul. The South Coast Service between Bomaderry & Central (Sydney) & vice versa does not stop at this station.
