Monument Circle is a roundabout in downtown Indianapolis, IA, circling the Soldiers and Sailors Monument. The sidewalks are made of red clinker bricks, and at many locations along the 1,200 feet long sidewalk, engraved bricks are incorporated in the pavement.

There are literally hundreds, if not thousands of them. We took pictures at two locations: in front of the Christ Church Cathedral (right) and in front of the Columbia Club (below).

We did not want to single out one of the hundreds of individual names, but instead choose a brick dedicated to School Fift-Nine. This particular brick is located just left of the entrance to the Columbia Club.
