A PLACAEsta placa de pedra está colocada na frente do pedestal do monumento e pode-se ler:
"Este Monumento foi inaugurado em Dezembro de 1998, por sua Ex. o Ministro da Agricultura, Desenvolvimento Rural e Pescas, Dr. Capoulas Santos, sendo Presidente da Câmara o Dr. João Reigota."O LOCALGrupo escultórico, de arte contemporânea integrado na marginal da praia, sobre uma base de perfil horizontal. O artista representa um pescador na faina da pesca e a sua família, salientando força e movimento nas figuras, com uma exibição de linhas sinuosas de grande dinamismo formal.
Obra promovida pela Câmara Municipal de Mira e Junta de Freguesia da Praia de Mira. É uma obra do escultor Alves André.
A escultura é de Bronze e a base é de betão revestido a lajes de mármore.

A PESSOA"Luís Manuel Capoulas Santos (Montemor-o-Novo, 22 de agosto de 1951) é um político português.
Ocupou diversos cargos em governos portugueses.
Foi Ministro da Agricultura, do Desenvolvimento Rural e das Pescas no XIII Governo Constitucional e foi Ministro da Agricultura, do Desenvolvimento Rural e das Pescas no XIV Governo Constitucional.
Em 2012 era filiado na maçonaria na Loja do Ocidente, do Grande Oriente Lusitano.
A 17 de Janeiro de 2006 foi agraciado com a Grã-Cruz da Ordem do Mérito Empresarial Classe Agrícola."

The artist represents a fisherman in the task of fishing and his family, emphasizing strength and movement in the figures, with a display of sinuous lines of great formal dynamism.
Work was sponsored by the city of Mira and the Parish of Praia de Mira. It is a work of the sculptor André Alves.
The sculpture is bronze and the base is concrete coated by slabs of marble.
