Located off of Hwy 140 in a large parking area is the trailhead to access the popular Pacific Crest Trail 1/4 mile from here. There is also a map portrays the Pacific Crest Trail that passes through the Sky Lakes Wilderness Area and circumvents Mt. McLaughlin, a popular mountain for hikers to hike up to its summit. There is also a trailhead register sign-in sheet for hikers to sign-in in case they get lost or in trouble on the trail.
