Wenkenpark is an area around two historic mansions in Riehen, called Wenkenhof. The old one dates back to the 8th century, the new one was established in the 1730s. The Baroque garden was built in 1736 and, while the major part of today's area was agricultural zone up to the 1920s. Then the owner extended the park. Since 1932 it is property of the municipality. In 1957 the southernmost part was added in Neo-Baroque style.
