Albemarle Fire Department Engine 2 is an Emergency One Typhoon class pumper. It is housed at Station 2 at the corner of NC 73 and Pickler Ave.

This is a custom truck that has a sister truck in Shelby, NC. Specifications were drawn up for the truck and then an alteration that is the only difference between the two - an additional 10 inches was added the cab on the back end. This gives a little extra room to the crew while traveling to the scene to get fully geared up. Thanks to Robert, one of the crew on duty during my visit, for opening up the truck to let this old firefighter see what the new firefighters go to battle with....
