Text of the plaque
To support the British military
efforts during the War of 1812,
New Brunswick's 104th Regiment
of Foot marched 700 miles from
Fredericton, New Brunswick to
Kingston, in present day Ontario,
during the winter of 1813. The
Regiment then participated in the
Second Battle of Sackets Harbor
in May 1813 suffering heavy
casualties.

Afin de soutenir l’effort militaire
britannique lors de la guerre de 1812,
le 104e Régiment d’infanterie du
Nouveau-Brunswick parcourt 700 milles
à pieds de Fredericton, au
Nouveau-Brunswick, à Kingston, dans la
province actuelle de l’Ontario, au cours
de l’hiver 1813. Au mois de mai de la
même année, le Régiment participe à la
deuxième bataille de Sackets Harbor où
il subit de lourdes pertes.
