This duck & turtle crossing sign is located on Carlson Drive near the highway 91 on one side and the Carlson Oxbow Lake and the Carlson Oxbow Park on the other side, in the town of Hammond (Indiana) USA.

This is one of Hammond's newer parks, dedicated on 7 October 1998. This land was originally acquired by the City of Hammond in 1964 for flood control purposes. The Little Calumet River was straightened in 1975, leaving behind the oxbow lake, which was formerly a meander. The park mostly consists of wetlands.

Carlson Oxbow Nature Park holds a variety of wildlife species. It is home to the following wetland species: Red Fox, Raccoon, Woodchuck, Leopard Frog, Western Painted Turtle and the Eastern Cottontail Rabbit. It also hold over 50 species of birds including the Cardinal, House Wren, Peregrine Falcon, Eared Grebe, the Blue Winged Teal and many varieties of Ducks.

Hammond is a city in Lake County, Indiana, United States. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The population was 80,830 at the 2010 census, replacing Gary as the most populous city in Lake County.
