This plaque, in memory of Fanny Doyle, is located on the third floor of the "Castle" of Old Fort Niagara. Fanny Doyle showed extreme fortitude and courage in carrying red hot shot to gunners manning a six pounder located on the old mess house.

November 21, 1812
"During the most tremendous cannonading I have
ever seen she attended the six pounder on the
old mess house with red hot shot, and showed
fortitude equal to the "Maid of Orleans."
