Long Description:
Battery Huger was constructed in 1897-1898 inside the walls of Fort Sumter. The fallout shelter established sometime after 1945. An interesting article about the battery can be found here. The fallout shelter sign can be viewed through a set of locked gates. The capacity of the shelter is not clearly visible from the gates.
