The Ellison Fire Department is one of eleven in the Central Okanagan Regional District, supplying coverage to the vast majority of the Central Okanagan. It stands beside an old school nearly a century older than itself. This is a pretty spiffy looking fire hall, and quite new. The station is manned by a force of about 25 paid-on-call firefighters and a fire chief. Their equipment list consists of a pumper, a tender a first response vehicle and a utility vehicle. The lineup is as follows:
  • Engine 61 - 2011 Spartan Gladiator / Hub (1500/700/?F)
  • Pumper Tanker 61 - 1998 Western Star / Superior (1050/2500) (SN#SE 1970)
  • Mini 61 - 2005 Ford F-550 4x4 / Hub (CAFS/250)
  • Utility 61 - Ford F-350
