The light house was built in 1864 and is on a headland in what is now the Cap de Creus national park.
There is no road that leads to the light house but there is a well maintained foot path from near to the Hotel Rocamor at the southern edge of the town of Cadaques.
A sign on the side of the light house gives details of the light house including its height of 33 meters.
