Formed by volunteers, it provides fire protection and suppression to the residents along US 501 North and the small byways of the area. It is bordered to the Laurinburg North Station to the south, North Scotland Fire Department in Wagram, NC to the East and to the Southwest Laurel Hill Fire Department. These volunteers receive some assistance from the county but rely heavily on proceeds from the yearly Turkey Shoot for fund raising. They are part of a county wide network of volunteer departments that protect the residents. Spring Hill - Friendship has a helipad on the grounds of the fire station. Funds raised by turkey shoots provide a great deal of the money to develop and build the helipad.
