The depicted Friendship Bridge (Most družby), crossing natural border between Czech Republic and Poland - river Olse (Olza), connects not only both EU countries, but also both parts of formerly united town Ceský Tešín (Cieszyn).
Soon after end of WWI and desintegration of Austro-Hungarian Empire was originally united city on Olza river, Tešín (Cieszyn), divided into two independent towns - Ceský Tešín in Czechoslovakia and Cieszyn in Poland. But nowadays, both countries are members of European Union and also Schengen Area (the area comprising 26 European countries that have abolished passport and any other type of border control at their common borders, also referred to as internal borders). So You can cross the borders whenever and anywhere You want and the bridge is common way how the citizens (and visitors) of in EU "reunited" town visit its both parts.
