A hitman smuggles in a long range gun in a stolen car from Athens. Unfortunately, when stopped for speeding, his accomplice, Costa, shoots the policeman. CI5 get involved in tracing the cop killer. They discover the hidden compartment in the car and work out that the rifle must be very special. This is confirmed when a poacher reports being shot at when Georgi was honing the sights. Bodie and Doyle find that Georgi’s target was two miles away from the scene.

Doyle uses his Greek contacts to find the address of a group who might have hired the gun man. When they arrive at the flat one of the gang makes a run for it while the others escape. Upon interrogation the gunman is identified.

With their hideout blown the gang decide to activate their plan early and break into a top floor flat in a block of flats. Unfortunately the flat has little food and one of the gang, Hilda, is sent out to buy food. Hilda panics when she sees police near the supermarket and runs into the path of a taxi. This gives Doyle and Bodie the information that the new hideout must be close by.

When Cowley arrives on the scene he catches a glimpse of the rifle barrel on the balcony. He organises Bodie to jump down from the penthouse above whilst Doyle simultaneously goes through the front door. Georgi and Costa are shot in the raid.
