Murdoch Troon, cyclist, has a road rage incident with Charles Chingford, a wealthy businessman. Murdoch goes to remonstrate with Charles, but falls for Charles’s daughter, Claire. Claire persuades Murdoch to give up cycling and buy a sports car. Murdoch buys a vintage Bentley called The Fast Lady and takes driving lessons. On his driving test Murdoch and his car are commandeered by the police to chase bank robbers. He successfully runs the robbers off the road.
