In this film shot, 16-year-old Liesl von Trapp, the oldest of the von Trapp children, and Rolf Gruber, the 17-year-old Nazi delivery boy who is in love with Liesl, are just outside the glass gazebo during the "Sixteen Going on Seventeen" song segment.

"One of the main sites from the film is the glass gazebo, setting for various love scenes, like "Sixteen Going on Seventeen" and "Something Good". After a complete renovation, it was reconstructed in the park of Hellbrunn Palace. This is not the original setting, which was the garden of Leopoldskron Palace, but a more accessible one for visitors."

"One of the most famous and romantic scenes of The Sound of Music was filmed in this timeless gazebo when Liesl sings '16 going on 17'. While the Pavilion is located at Hellbrunn Palace today, during the filming the Gazebo was located at Leopoldskron Palace. Currently the public is not allowed inside the Gazebo, but you can still walk up to and dance around it. The location of the Pavilion near the Eastside entrances' wall makes it easy to find and you don't even need to pay for entry to the Hellbrunn Palace to see it."

"The Sound of Music (1959) is a musical with music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II and a book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. It is based on the memoir of Maria von Trapp, The Story of the Trapp Family Singers. Many songs from the musical have become standards, such as "Edelweiss", "My Favorite Things", "Climb Ev'ry Mountain", "Do-Re-Mi", and the title song "The Sound of Music".

On March 2, 1965, 20th Century Fox released a film adaption of the musical starring Julie Andrews as Maria Rainer and Christopher Plummer as Captain Georg von Trapp. It was produced and directed by Robert Wise with the screenplay adaption written by Ernest Lehman. Two songs were written by Rodgers specifically for the film, "I Have Confidence" and "Something Good"."
