The Inn was built in 1998 and opened for business in 1999. With a nautical theme throughout, it's little wonder that they chose to display a large anchor outside. It is at the rear of the parking lot and visible from Smith Drive, which runs behind the inn.

We have no idea from whence the anchor hails. It could be off an old paddlewheeler which plied the waters of the Shuswap River, Shuswap Lake or even Okanagan Lake. Or maybe it's off an old tug which pushed log booms up and down one of the lakes. Perhaps we'll never know.
