Echo Lake is situated half way up the Mount Evans Scenic Byway from Idaho Springs in the Rocky Mountains. It was created about 10,000 years ago and is quite shallow. Echo Lake Park is named after it.

The coordinates point to the lakeside near the parking lot, where you can among other things go for a walk, have a picnic or observe the birdlife in the area. There are beautiful views of the lake and the mountainside.
