The Shuswap Volunteer Fire Department has two fire stations, this, Station 1, in the village of Sorrento and another in Blind Bay, 7.5 km. east on Highway 1.

This appears to be the older of the two Shuswap Fire Department fire halls. It is a small single story building with a pair of wide overhead doors and a steel quonset addition attached to the rear for extra vehicle storage.
