The steeple (spire) stands atop the bell tower & is 42.12 metres tall (138 feet). The Victorian Gothic Revival church was completed in 1879 however due to indebtedness the construction of the bell tower & spire was not commenced until 1919. They were dedicated in 1924. The bell tower & spire are a memorial to lives lost in the Great War.

Information about the church & its steeple can be found on a plaque installed by Orange City Council & located diagonally opposite the church.
