The chateau in Jicín was built after 1608; 12 years later, it caught fire after an explosion, and was seriously damaged. Under Albrecht of Valdštejn, in 1633, it was newly built in the Baroque style.
It is one of the largest early-Baroque chateau in our country and a significant dominant element of the urban preserve of Jicín.
In the historic interiors you can visit the Lounge of Three Emperors with portraits of leaders - allies who once fought against Napoleon. At present, the chateau is used by the town authority and it is the residence of the District Museum and the Gallery with a permanent exposition of works by artist Radek Pilar.
