Private villa Dusan Jurkovic (Jurkovic House) was built in 1906 at the foot of the Brno Wilson Woods. Located on the street Jana Necase in Brno-Žabovresky and is one of the most important monuments of Art Nouveau architecture in Brno.
Site selection was influenced Jurkovicová love for nature. Zabovresky were at the beginning of the century a peaceful place - on one hand, sided with the imperial shooting range near the Svratka. The villa is remarkable in many aspects. First of all, thanks to its formal solution, which is a unique synthesis of influences of Central European folk culture and principles of British modernism and Viennese Secession. The basic concept of the house but is based on British architecture, the type of cottage. Solution of the house derives from the basic space, which is the staircase, whose main mission was to link the ground floor common area with a private area on the top floor. Jurkovic this solution is somewhat modified and elaborated social part up to the first floor, where he had his studio and where undoubtedly would bring their friends. Private bedrooms remained on the ground floor and were separated by a corridor.
