"Mozart’s Residence was reconstructed after being destroyed during World War II and was opened to the public in 1996. The biographies of the family members and the authentic impressions of everyday family life fill the house to this day with their spirit and allow visitors to experience Mozart anew." --Source (visit link)

"The building, largely destroyed during World War II, was faithfully reconstructed and opened to the public as a second Mozart museum in 1996.

With its eight rooms, the house provided the family with a larger living quarters from 1773 onwards. Wolfgang Amadeus lived here until early 1781, when he left the city for good to live in Vienna.

In the spacious rooms, original documents and portraits document the history of the house, of Mozart's compositions during his Salzburg years, and of the social environment of the Mozart family. Special attractions include Mozart's original fortepiano and the famous family portrait in the ‘Dance-Master's Salon’.

Separate areas are dedicated to topics such as the women in Mozart's life, espesially his sister Nannerl, and to 'Bölzlschießen', a popular pastime among the Mozarts, as well as to the family's extensive travels.

An audio-visual display about Mozart's life and his Salzburg surroundings completes the tour of the museum.

Mozart’s Residence also holds varying special exhibitions, concerts, and lectures." --Source (visit link)
