"In 1905, Matisse and Derain discovered Collioure. They found the colours and light dazzlingly beautiful and invented the Fauvist Art. Today, all along the " Fauvism footpath ", you will discover 20 reproductions displayed on the spots where the original works were painted. Picasso, Dali, Juan Gris, Hanicotte, Foujita also fell in love with Collioure."

The picture is positioned on a wall alongside the esplanade that follows the beach around the coast of Collioure. The picture shows the church of Notre-Dame-des-Anges, together with its distinctive steeple, that was originally a light house. The church is a prominent landmark in Collioure and visible from most parts of the bay.
Because the painting has been positioned as close to where it was originally painted, you get the chance to compare the painting with it's subject.
Underneath the picture the following information is displayed.
