This memorial plaque for veterans of World War I is mounted on the grounds of the old Chatham School which dates from 1924 in the center of town on Main Street.

This memorial is a bronze plaque mounted on a large granite stone about six feet high. A larger bronze eagle with wings spread is mounted on top of the stone which is flanked by two shrubs. The plaque bears the inscription below which is flanked by to figures in relief depicting military men in uniform standing with weapons.

The memorial is on the front grounds of the old Chatham school built in 1924 and used until 1963, now refurbished as a community center. The building is on Main Street in the heart of this picturesque coastal village on the south side of Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
