On the wall behind the model of the U.S.S. Hartford is a 3' by 4' bronze tablet honoring and in memory of those who participated in the War of 1812. The tablet contains the image of a star superimposed over an anchor. The star is inscribed:

Visitors can tour the Connecticut Capitol Building by entering the west entrance. The building is open for visitors Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. Guided tours are available at quarter past the hour until 13:15. Self-guided booklets are available on the first floor.
