This Benchmark is on SR 55, between Wingate, IN and Attica, IN.
It is stamped, US Coast & Geodetic Survey N 96 1946.
I pass this way often, on the way to Attica, from my home.
As you leave Wingate, heading west, towards Attica, and after crossing the county line, from Montgomery County into Fountain County, you pass Walnut Knoll, on your left, now a private residence, but formerly the State Rest Area, mentioned in the benchmark description. The BM is about one third of a mile west of Walnut Knoll, on the right, the north side of SR 55, next to an electricity pole.
