Reilly is trying to find oil developer D’Arcy, in order to persuade him to do a deal with the British. D’Arcy is in Paris, as is Reilly’s wife. Reilly’s wife has run off with her lover and Reilly tries to find her.
Reilly has to convince D’Arcy to sign with the British, before Baron Rothschild persuades him to sell to the French. Whilst pursuing D’Arcy, Reilly finds out that his half sister Anna is a courier for Russian revolutionaries.
