The origins of this park can be traced back to 1469, when Grand Duke Kazimieras invited the Bernardine monks to Vilnius. They established themselves right where this park is located.
Later, in the 18th Century, the Vilnius University Botanical Garden was established here. In 1870 three different parks (Botanical, Bernardine and Cathedral gardens) were gathered in a single one, the Bernardinus park, in a design from Vladislovas Štrausas.
During the Soviet times it took a different name, Sereikiškes Park. The park was temporarily closed and opened again in 2013.
Free admission. Open daily 7:00 – 22:00.
