The top of the marker has the date 1971, with the 19 and 17 separated by an eagle with three stars. Text: In Honor of Our Armed Forces Past and Present. Dedicated to the Preservation of Freedom Under God. (There is the American Legion Emblem at lower center followed by the Posts which sponsored this monument.) Erected By Laurens Post 25 Clinton Post 56 Laurens Post 225

Description of Memorial:
Monument is located on a grass island about 10 feet from the front door of the Laurens County Sheriffs Department. It faces W. Main Street. Behind it is a single flag pole with the American and South Carolina flags.
