A series of granite markers was placed approximately five miles apart, beginning at the Atlantic Ocean and going westward to a point just past Highway 15, near Clarksville. There are 36 markers, in all. The stone was quarried near Raleigh and shaped into a monument by inmates at the state prison.

Number 30 is 8 by 10 inches in diameter and projects 30 inches above ground. It is easy to access by driving. You will find it in a residential subdivision, under a power line.
