The depicted memorial in the shape of winged lion, unveiled in Klárov (Lesser Town of Prague) on 17 June 2014, is devoted to the Czechoslovak airmen who served in the Royal Air Force (RAF) during World War II. The two metre high bronze-cast Winged Lion is the work of the contemporary acclaimed British sculptor Colin Spofforth.
On the memorial' pedestal You can find following inscriptions:
"He fights for Freedom, one of Freedoms's sons, lone in his aery sphere of blue and bronze."

This monument is an expression of the British community lasting gratitude to the 2500 Czechoslovak airmen who served with the Royal Air Force between 1940 and 1945 for the freedom of Europe. Many were subsequently persecuted by the Communist regime in Czechoslovakia.
It was unveiled by the right honourable Sir Nicholas Soames MP on 17th June 2014. It is a gift to the Czech and Slovak people from the British community living and working in the Czech and Slovak republics.
