Einstein-haus is located at Kramgasse in the historic center of Bern. Albert Einstein lived there from 1903 to 1905. That was the period when he created some of his most important papers; 1905 is called the "Annus Mirabilis" of aAlbert Einstein.
The house has been converted n a museum, Einstein's apartment in the second floor is preserved in the style of the early 20th century. The other floors have exhibitions about Einstein's works and his influence on the world of today.
The entrance area has two plaques, a bilingual metal plaque with the text:
"Einstein in Bern (1902-1909)
Einstein lebte mit seiner Familie von Ende 1903 bis Mai 1905 an der Kramgasse 49, 2. Stock, wo er die revolutionäre Lichtquanten-Hypothese formulierte.
From late 1903 until May 1905, Einstein and his family lived at Kramgasse 49, 2nd story, where he developed his revolutionary light quatum hypothesis."
Below there is a stone plaque:
"In diesem Hause schuf Albert Einstein in den Jahren 1903-1905 seine grundlegende Abhandlung über die Relativitätstheorie."
("In this house, Albert Einstein created his basic treatise on the theory of relativity in the years 1903-1905.")
