I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey benchmark from 1954 in good condition. The NGS datasheet is adequate for disk recovery with obsolete info crossed out. My more accurate coordinates will place you very close to this mark.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1954 5.7 MI SE FROM DORRIS. 5.7 MILES SOUTHEAST ALONG A GRADED ROAD FROM THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY RAILROAD STATION AT DORRIS, 0.25 MILE SOUTHEAST OF A LARGE POTATO CELLAR ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE ROAD, AT A POWER LINE CROSSING AND DIRECTLY IN LINE WITH THE POWER LINE POLES, 26 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE ROAD, 2.7 FEET SOUTHWEST OF A FENCE, 2.5 FEET SOUTHEAST OF A WITNESS POST, ABOUT 3 FEET HIGHER THAN THE ROAD, AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST PROJECTING 0.6 FOOT ABOVE THE GROUND.
