This plaque details the history of this monument installed by teh Sons of Italy in Pueblo, Colorado. It is believed that Pueblo, as area of heavy Italian immigration, was the first metropolitan area to celebrate what became 'Columbus Day.' The State of Colorado adopted Columbus Day in 1907.
