This water tower is behind the Leon, Iowa City Hall - 104 West 1st Street.

This is an interesting water tower - it's not the usual white. It has the mascot of the local High School team - the Cardinals on it. The complete text on the tower is:

"Leon is a city in Decatur County, Iowa, United States. The population was 1,977 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Decatur County.

The city is located near the Little River Lake Recreation Area. Leon is home to a major rodeo that has been Rodeo of the Year in Iowa for many years.

Leon was incorporated as a city in 1858. It was a shipping point on the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad."
