Le plus ancien établissement français et la première mission au Canada. Après avoir été un rendez-vous des Basques pour la pêche à la baleine, longtemps le centre du commerce des fourrures. Jacques Cartier y arriva le 1er septembre 1535 et Pierre Chauvin y bâtit en 1600 la première maison au Canada. À la Pointe aux Alouettes, en face, Champlain effectua, le 27 mai 1603; l'alliance des Français et des Algonquins contre les Iroquois.
Tadoussac
The oldest French establishement and Christian mission station in Canada. An early resort of Basques for the whale fishery and long the centre of fur-trade. Here Jacques Cartier arrived 1st September, 1535, and in 1600 Pierre Chauvin built the first house in Canada. At Lark's Point opposite, 27th May, 1603, by Champlain was effected the war alliance of the French and Algonkins against the Iroquois.
