This is part of a county wide water system that supplies drinking water, industrial needs, and fire protection.

With grants from USDA, Richmond County set about providing water service to most of the residents of the county. The system is fairly extensive with a north to south run from the Drowning Creek area off US 1 to the South Carolina line above Cheraw, SC. East to west the service lines extend from near the border with Scotland County to the Pee Dee River border with Anson County. It is maintained by a county operated maintenance department. This is just one of many that are in the system.
