A simple bronze plaque was erected by the American Federation of Labor (a labor union) in May of 1935, commemorating the loss of life among the workforce who built Hoover Dam.
The plaque reads as follows:
"They Labored so that Millions Might See a Better Day
[seal of AFL and bronze relief of a water wheel, Hoover dam, and agricultural bounty]
IN MEMORY OF
OUR FELLOWMEN
Who lost their lives
In the Construction of thos dam
Dedicated by the
Boulder City Central Labor Council
May, 1935"
