Old Drill Hall

Looking Back...
The Centennial Hall or Old Drill Hall has been a gathering place for social and traditional events for over 80 years. Home of the Rocky Mountain Rangers, 'C/D' Company, 1695 RMR's Cadet Corp., and Air Cadet Squadron 847, much of the original brick of the building has been covered by stucco and paint, but the pilasters are still visible.

1914 - The Hall was completed in April to house military activities related to the Reserve during WWI

1920s - Drill hall was the site of the first legion meetings.

1960s - Kinsmen Club remodeled the hall after a fire.

1967 - Name changed from Drill Hall to Centennial Hall in honour of Canada's Centennial.

1987 - Community co-operation under leadership of the local amateur theatre group, Asparagus Theatre, enabled the addition of the 160 seat theatre on the southwest side of the building.

Original shooting range in the basement is now used for Asparagus Community Theatre costume storage.
