Tranquille Sanatorium

In 1907, William and Jane Fortune sold their Tranquille ranch to the BC Anti-Tuberculosis Society. The warm, dry area was considered ideal tor the treatment of TB. The sanatorium was particularly busy during World War I with returning veterans. It closed in 1958 when the site was converted to a mental health institution.
