There are four black ducks in the town of Blackduck, MN, but this is the original one. Our guide at the Rabideau Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Camp told us that this duck was constructed of wood by members of the camp and later taken all around the country to various parades and community celebrations. Eventually it showed wear and tear and was covered with fiberglass and painted. It is now on permanent display outside the town fire station.
